Flowers mean a lot of different things and feelings to different people. Roses are thought to represent love and passion, while calla lilies are thought to represent beauty. Irises, on the other hand, are thought to represent hope. Most of the people, though, associate all flowers with the same thing: charm and beauty.

Flowers have been so common that they have spawned stunning flower festivals all over the world. Flower festivals are held in different countries nearly all year long. Flowers in these events offer a mesmerizing sight to see because of their vibrant colors, alluring fragrances, and overall captivating looks. For the people who joyfully participate in these festivities from all over the country, flower festivals are thrilling and fun carnivals. Countries worldwide host and commemorate unique flower festivals that are lauded as the embodiment of their cultures.

The spectacular flower floats, live music and band shows, delectable food and beverages, picturesque views of the vibrant flowers, and the happy audience make these celebrations a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone.

Woodflowers.com gives our blog lovers and readers an overview of the most fascinating and charming flower festivals held in the world. Though the main idea behind these flower festivals is to present the vivid beauty and grace of countless flowers present worldwide. Here are the eight most popular flower festivals in the world:

1.    Cherry blossoms festival:

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is held in Washington, DC, in which the advent of spring is celebrated by showcasing more than 2900 beautiful cherry trees. These trees were sent to them as a gift from Tokyo in 1921. With their white and vibrant pale pink flowers, the blossoming cherry trees symbolize the beginning of spring and brighten the region around the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin.

2.    Bloemencorso festival:

The Bloemencorso is basically a Dutch term meaning "flower parade". This parade is held in several Belgian and Dutch cities. During this festival, the floats, motorcycles, and, in some instances, boats in a procession like this are lavishly draped or adorned in flowers. Each parade has its style, personality, and ambiance.

Every year on September's first Sunday, this world's biggest floral parade is held in Zundert. Billions of flowers, steel wire, and cardboard are used to create the floats, massive pieces of art. Only dahlias are used to decorate items in the Bloemencorso Zundert, and it takes thousands of them to cover only one float.

3.    Jersey Battle of flowers:

Batalla de Flores is a traditional fiesta in Valencia, Spain, that marks the end of the month-long Feria de Julio, which includes various cultural and entertainment events. This Jersey Battle of Flowers is an annual carnival held on Jersey's Channel Island every second Thursday in August. Since 1989, a nightly Moonlight Parade featuring illuminated floats has been held. A massive fireworks show concludes the Moonlight Procession.

This event includes a flower float procession, funfair, music, funfairs, singers, and majorettes, as well as other street entertainers, which are all part of the event. The floats were initially dismantled to provide floral ammo for a literal flower fight between participants and spectators, but this component of the 'Battle' has long been discarded. It all begins with a long procession of massive and beautiful floats drawn by horses and packed with young girls dressed in costumes appropriate to the float's theme.

4.    Festival of the flowers, Medellin:

The first Flower Festival took place on May 1, 1957, and lasted five days. Medellin's city celebrates the Feria de Las Flores, or Flower Festival, which features a week-long calendar of activities and celebrations, including the world-famous silleteros parade. This flower parade commemorates the conclusion of slavery, where slaves brought men and women up steep hills on their backs instead of flowers. Other activities have been introduced since then, such as the International Pageant of the Flowers, the cavalcade, Guinness World Records in 1996 and 1999, vintage cars procession, and Orchids exposition, to name a few.

5.    Pasadena Rose Parade:

The Rose Parade, also known as "America's New Year Celebration," is a festival with flower-covered floats, marching bands, equestrians, and the Rose Bowl college football game held on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California.

This Rose Parade was begun on January 1, 1890. It attracts hundreds of thousands of people along the parade route and is televised on various television networks throughout the United States. A parade of floral floats with whimsical designs parades down the streets to be judged.

6.    Brussels Flower Carpet:

The Brussels Flower Carpet is a floral event that is held after every two years. A large carpet of flowers is spread out in front of the City Hall on Brussels' main square during this gathering. The flower carpet is shown for free to the public, but those who want a better view will pay a fee to climb one of the nearby buildings for a panoramic view.

7.    Chiang Mai flower festival:

The Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place on the first weekend of February. This time of year, the flower beds in public spaces all over town are particularly lovely. Beautiful exhibits of yellow and white chrysanthemums and the Damask Rose, a variety found only in Chiang Mai, can be found anywhere.

8.    Genzano Infiorata flower festival:

Local artists cover the entire street of Belardo with a floral carpet with designs influenced by religious art, curves, and famous paintings every year in June. For over two centuries on the Sunday and Monday following the Corpus Christi feast, the Infiorata, a most suggestive manifestation of sculpture, has taken place as a source of pride for the artists of Genzano.

9.    Rose Parade, California:

The Rose Parade began on January 1, 1890, in Pasadena, California, on New Year's Day. It is one of the world's most famous flower festivals and ranks fifth on this list. Roses are the flowers of this parade, and thousands of spectators line the streets to witness the dazzling parade, which features rose-themed floats. The festival includes music performances and competitions and the Rose Bowl, one of America's most famous football games.

10.    Canadian Tulip Festival:

The Canadian Tulip Festival is undoubtedly one of the world's biggest tulip festivals. It takes place every May in Ottawa, Canada's capital. For the first time in 1953, this event was organized. During the festival, speeches, music performances, and food shows are organized with large displays of Tulips set up in Commissioners Park and along the Rideau Canal.
